Your Data Stays on Your Device

Pinion stores all vehicle data, service records, reminders, and fuel logs locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud storage. Your data never leaves your phone.

No Analytics or Tracking

Pinion does not collect analytics, crash reports, usage data, or any form of telemetry. We do not use third-party SDKs that track user behavior.

Network Requests

Pinion makes two types of network requests, both to US government APIs:

• VIN Decoding: When you scan or enter a VIN, Pinion sends it to the NHTSA vPIC API to decode your vehicle's make, model, and year.
• Recall Checks: Pinion checks the NHTSA Recalls API for open safety recalls matching your vehicle's make, model, and year.

These requests are sent directly to api.nhtsa.gov. No data passes through Pinion servers.
