Who Writes This Content
Pinion articles are written by Vlad Kuzin, developer of the Pinion iOS app. Every article goes through a multi-step research and review process before publication.
How We Research
Every factual claim in a Pinion article is sourced. Our research standards:
- Maintenance intervals come from manufacturer owner's manuals and service schedules, not internet forums or third-party blogs.
- Repair costs are sourced from AAA, RepairPal, Kelley Blue Book, or Consumer Reports, with the year noted. We do not publish cost ranges without a named source.
- Recall data comes from NHTSA (nhtsa.gov) with campaign numbers cited.
- Part specifications use OEM part numbers from manufacturer catalogs.
If we cannot verify a claim from a primary source, we either flag it for the reader or remove it.
What We Don't Do
- We do not accept paid placements or sponsored content.
- We do not recommend specific repair shops, mechanics, or service chains.
- We do not manufacture statistics or fabricate source citations.
- We do not publish content that simply rewrites existing top-ranking articles. Every article must provide original value — specific cost data, make/model breakdowns, or manufacturer data that other guides omit.
Pinion App Mentions
Pinion is the blog behind the Pinion iOS app. We mention the app where relevant — typically once or twice per article — but only to state what a specific feature does ("Pinion sends a push reminder when your next oil change is due based on your car's VIN"). We do not write promotional language or make comparative claims.
Content Freshness
Cost data and repair estimates change. We review and update articles quarterly to ensure cost ranges, interval recommendations, and part specifications reflect current pricing. Each article shows both its original publication date and last-updated date.
Corrections
If you find an error in any article — a wrong interval, incorrect cost, outdated part number, or broken source link — email support@pinionpress.org. We correct verified errors within 48 hours and note the correction at the top of the article.
